If you would not be forgotten,
as soon as you are dead and rotten,
either write things worth reading,
or do things worth the writing.
- Benjamin Franklin

A love of writing has been in evidence from an early age when I set about writing my first novel at the age of ten. Needless to say it was about ponies but this early creative spirit evolved into an intellectual curiosity and interest in research and analysis. Since then I have written on famine in India, genocide in Rwanda, reported at major sporting events, written restaurant reviews and had numerous features published in well known magazines as well as providing my own photos in some cases.

I am available for commission on any subject but with my background, I specialise in lifestyle, the countryside, equestrianism and history.

BROADCAST JOURNALISM AND PRESENTING/ ON SCREEN

I have experience both in public speaking and in front of the camera. These experiences include:

  • Multi-media journalist for BTsport’s coverage of Women’s sport- providing written and video content for BTsport online.
  • Interviewing to camera for several sporting events broadcast on national TV for BBC and BTsport.
  • Interviewing riders for global and regional radio service at World Equestrian Games and Burghley Horse Trials.
  • Presenting live racing at the Cheltenham Festival broadcast by Ladbrokes, Sportal.com and the official Cheltenham website.
In addition, I spent several months working in the BBC’s Olympic department on a project entitled ‘World Olympic Dreams’, assisting in all aspects of broadcast journalism for TV, radio and online.
